Privacy Policy

HabitHero ("we", "us") is a gamified chore & habit tracker for families. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We don't show ads and we never sell your data.

Who controls the data

A parent/guardian ("admin") creates the family account and any child profiles. The admin decides what chores, rewards and child details are entered. We act as a processor of that information on the family's behalf.

Information we collect

• Waitlist: if you join the waitlist, your email address.
• Account (parent): email address and password (handled by Firebase Authentication).
• Child profiles: a first name or nickname, an avatar/emoji, and a login code + PIN created by the parent. No child email or real-world identifiers are required.
• Usage data: chores/quests, points/XP, rewards, penalties, streaks, and activity history within your family.
• Photos (optional): if a child submits a photo as chore proof, it is stored for the parent to review.
• Device: a push-notification token (if you enable notifications) and basic diagnostics to keep the app working.

How we use it

• To run the app: sync your family's data across devices in real time.
• To send notifications you opt into (e.g. "chore approved").
• To keep the service secure and fix problems.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it.

Children's privacy

HabitHero is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian. Child profiles contain only the minimal information a parent chooses to enter (a name/nickname, avatar, and chore activity). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children beyond what the parent provides. If you believe a child has provided us information without parental consent, contact us and we will delete it.

Who we share it with

We use trusted infrastructure providers as processors:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Cloud Messaging) — stores and syncs your data.
• Apple — delivers push notifications.

We don't share data with advertising networks or data brokers.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can remove a child profile in the app, and you can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us. Backups are purged on a rolling basis.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by security rules so families can only see their own data, and parent accounts are password-protected.

Your rights

Depending on your region, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Changes

We may update this policy; we'll revise the date above and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email.
